Lonnie Howard “Jubie” Chandler, 82, of Clendenin, passed away on April 7, 2013, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Lonnie Howard “Jubie” Chandler, 82, of Clendenin, passed away on April 7, 2013, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He enjoyed fishing, yard sales and mostly enjoyed meeting old and new friends. To most who knew him, he was quite a story teller and loved to tell the stories of years past. He was a sports legend at Clendenin High School and was the owner of “Jubie’s” Barber Shop in Clendenin for over 27 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Chloe Chandler and the love of his life, Edna June Gallion Chandler, an infant daughter, Teresa Jane, brothers Earl, Eugene and Don Chandler, sisters Dorothy Carnes and Maxine Hayes.
He is survived by his son, Stephen (Vickie) Chandler of Clendenin, and daughter, Robin (Andy) Villers of Ripley, grandchildren Tyson Chandler, Abbi Chandler, Hunter Chandler, Tyler Villers and Mollie Villers, step granddaughter Janessa (Justin) Hall, great grandchildren, Wyatt Chandler, and step great grandchildren, Aden Chandler, Jaleigh and Jace Hall.
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and in laws who were very special to him and special friend Mae Strickland.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will take place in Koontz Cemetery, Clendenin. Visitation will be Tuesday April 9, 2013 at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel from 5-9 pm. Online condolences may be made at http://www.haferfunerahome.net/.
