  • Oletta M. “Lettie” Golmitz, 89, of Lore City passed away Tuesday April 2, 2013 at her home.
    She was born April 28, 1923 in Hemlock, WV and was the daughter of the late Lucas and Oda (Hall) Archer.
    Mrs. Golmitz retired from Hamilton Beach after several years of service. She was a member of Lore City United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge, Golden Sixties and United Methodist Women.
    Lettie also enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Mercer, and her second husband, Paul Golmitz.
    She married Paul on August 1, 1970. He passed away April 27, 2012. She is also preceded in death by her oldest sister, Alice (Archer) Pritchett, and her brother, Jack Archer.
    Lettie is survived by three sons, Butch Mercer and Ray Mercer both of Lore City; Jerry (Pam) Mercer of Byesville; two daughters, Susan (David) Lanning of Somerset: as well as her daughter, Alice (Bob) Douglass of Salesville;
    She is also survived by her little sister, Pearl (Archer) Tallman of the Hemlock Community, WV; in addition to eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Calling hours will be Thursday, April 4 from 4-7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Senecaville.
    Services will be 11 a.m. On Friday, April 4.
    Rev. Floyd Costello will officiate and burial will be in Senecaville Cemetery.
