  • ALBERTA, CANADA – Jackson Newspapers has received an inquiry from Alberta, Canada, from a woman seeking information about her great-great-grandmother—Martha Rhodes Stout.
    Marge Nash of Drayton Valley, Alberta, Canada, penned the inquiry and included two photos she hopes are of her great-great-grandmother.
    Martha Rhodes was born October 7, 1835 or 1836 at Rockbridge, Virginia. When she was 18 years old, she married Charles Stout of Jackson County, West Virginia, on July 28, 1853. She had two children: James Madison Stout, born August 29, 1854; and Sarah Francis Stout, born in 1856. Martha Stout died in August, 1865, but where she died and where she is buried are unknown to her great-great granddaughter.
    “I am hoping these pictures are her,” writes Nash. “Your help would be most appreciated.
