CHARLESTON - Freshman softball hurler Darby Petersen gunned down Capital High School hitters with relative ease last week en-route to a mercy rule shortened 12-0 no hit performance. Petersen struck out three and walked two in her fine performance on the hill.
Petersen got some help from her friends in the form of an 11 run first inning. nine different players hit safely for coach Ken Swisher's undefeated Ripley squad.
Ripley was aided by three first inning errors by Capital.
