PARKERSBURG – Jackson County will be nicely represented when the 12th annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis Ohio-West Virginia All-Star Basketball Classic unfolds April 5.

Fittingly, the contests will be staged at Parkersburg South's Rod Oldham Athletic Center.

The late Oldham, one of West Virginia's all-time great wrestling coaches, was once a star athlete for Ripley High School.
The girls contest will tip at 5:30 with Ravenswood's Melonna Carmichael and Hannah Murray suiting up.
The West Virginia girls team will be guided by Paden City's Kelly Sine. The head coach of the girls team from Ohio will be River's Rick Isaly.

Ripley's Casey Smith will play for the West Virginia squad in the boys game that is scheduled for a 7:30 start time.
Parkersburg South's Mike Fallon, who guided his Patriots to this year's State Tournament, will be the West Virginia head coach. The Ohio boys head coach will be Matt Combs of Vinton County.

A 3-point shootout and free throw shooting competition will take place at halftime of the boys game. During halftime of the girls showdown, the boys slam dunk contest and 3-point shootout will be staged to showcase individual skills.
