The American Cancer Society will “Paint the Town Purple,” and in this case the county, in celebration of its annual Relay For Life event.
Beginning March 4 and continuing through March 22, businesses and residents in the county can show their support in the fight against cancer by ordering a purple bow to place on their property through the end of Relay. The bows along with a poster are available for a donation of $10 and all proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Jackson County Relay For Life.
This year’s Relay For Life of Jackson County will be held at the Jackson County Fairgrounds on June 7-8 from 6 p.m.-2 a.m. Relay For Life organizers invite Jackson County to come and enjoy this family-friendly event either as a team or individual or to just walk in and see what the teams have to offer for food and goodies as they fundraise to meet their goal. There will be music, inflatables, food, fun and more.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fund-raising event and the Number One fundraising event in the world. Teams of people camp out with pop-up tents, decorate their tents, walk laps on a track, socialize and participate in planned activities. Teams can be made up of family, friends, co-workers or community groups.
