ATHENS, OH - The Ripley High State Champion Archery Team led by coaches Tess Gump and Tom Kruk hit the road to Athens, Ohio, to compete in the Athens Archery Tournament on February 9.
The boys and girls in blue finished No. 2 with (3356) points, only topped by Logan Hocking who edged Ripley by only five points (3361).
Ripley returns a plethora of talented shooters this season including sharpshooting juniors Cayla Goodson and Jenny Gibbs, sophomore Levi Staats and a gun-slinging freshman named Nick Rhodes.
Rhodes shot a blistering (291) to take first place in the boys' high school division and edged out teammate Staats, who took home second place by a single point (290).
In the girls' high school division, Goodson snagged a second place finish (286) followed by Gibbs fourth place tally of (284).
