Chief of Police Lance Morrison, Mayor Micheal Ihle along with council members are working together for the process of filling open positions in the Ravenswood Police Department. Morrison, the mayor and council members spent most of the day Friday (January 16) interviewing candidates.
In December, Captain Bernard Fox retired and Luke Casto left the department for a position with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. For the safety of the community, hiring new officers to fill the openings was necessary.
On Wednesday, about 20 individuals took a PT test and the written exam. Out of that number, approximately 10 applicants went on to the interview process on Friday, January 18.
The hired individuals will be announced at a later date as those involved in the interviewing process need time to discuss issues and run background checks.
