  • Kenneth Ray Atkinson, 73, of Ravenswood, WV, formerly of St. Albans, left his worldly home January 5, 2013, in Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood, following an extended illness.
    He was born a son of the late W.H. “Bill” and Ethel (McNeeley) Atkinson. He was also preceded in death by; brothers, Melvin and Ralph Atkinson: sister Rosa Lea Reed.
    He was a member of the Independent Fellowship Church, Ravenswood, WV. He retired from the casting department of Pechiney Rolled Products with 32 years of service and was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local # 5668. He was a member of the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees. He deeply loved his wife, family, church, and gospel music.
    Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Ann (Crouch) Atkinson; son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. and Leslie Atkinson of West Chester P.A.; Daughter, Lisa Casto of Ripley; brothers, William (Dottie) Atkinson of Poca, and Larry (Marcella) Atkinson of Lawrenceville GA; sister, Romania Atkinson of South Charleston; grandchildren, Caleb and Jacob Casto, Megan and Tyler Atkinson.
    Service will be Today, Tuesday, January 8, 2013- 1 p.m. at the Independent Fellowship Church, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Allen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood, WV. Visitation will be form 11 a.m.--1 p.m. Today at the Church.
    In lieu of flowers: donations are preferred to the Independent Fellowship Church Building Fund or Kanawha Hospice, C/O Casto Funeral Home 802 Washington Street, Ravenswood, WV 26164.
