Red Devil netters register first 2012 win in comeback fashion
RAVENSWOOD – It was a red-hot beginning for the Doddridge County Bulldogs Tuesday night inside Ravenswood's Old Gymnasium/The Pit.
All the Bulldogs did was shoot lights out, making five of their first six attempts. Oh, by the way, all five were from the 3-point line.
It allowed Doddridge the pleasure of a 21-13 lead after one period of play and by halftime a cushion of 11 at 33-22.
The second half, though, proved to be different.
It was the guys with the dash of red in their uniforms who had the edge offensively. And by the end of the night the homestanding Runnin' Red Devils had emerged victorious by a final of 58-37.
"We got to the foul line," said Devil head coach Mick Price.
"We didn't put any pressure on Roane the other night (in a season opening loss), but tonight we did."
Ravenswood moves to 1-1 on the season with the win while Doddridge dropped to 0-2.
