  • SISSONVILLE - Coach Justin Frashier's Lady Viking hoopsters traveled to Kanawha County to take on the class AA Lady Indians of Sissonville on Tuesday evening.
Sissonville (3-2, 2-0 conf.) sit at the top of the Cardinal Conference and proved to be a difficult foe for Ripley on this night.
Karli Pinkerton scored 21 and Madison Jones hit four 3-point shots on the night and finished with 14 points to lead Sissonville to a 57-32 victory.
Sarah Williams led Ripley with 11 points.
Ripley (0-5) has had problems getting shots to fall early in the season.
For the Lady Vikings, their returning senior starter (Jillian Mullens) is coming off major knee surgery and couple of the Ripley players are getting their feet wet after not playing basketball last season.
The Lady Vikings get some home cookin' December 21 as they play their first game at Ripley Health Center as they host the Lady Highlanders of Huntington.
LOOKING BACK: Last season, Huntington was ranked No. 10 in AAA when the Lady Vikings took them down, 52-50 on the road in February.
Huntington led 40-31 after three quarters and the Lady Vikings went on a 21-10 run paced by Chelsey Hager's hot shooting.
It was a signature win for coach Frashier's career and gave Ripley something to build on.
Hager led Ripley in that game with 14 points and Sarah Williams added eight.
Hopefully, the Lady Vikes will make magic again.
