  • ONA - The Lady Viking netters were on the road last Thursday and after a jaunt down I64 found themselves face to face with the Lady Knights of Cabell Midland High School.
Unfortunately, this contest would belong to Midland (4-1) virtually from the opening tipoff as the Lady Knights raced to a 13-9 advantage out of the gate and never looked back.
The Lady Vikings managed just a single point in the third period while being outscored 14-1. In the end, the Cabell County school cruised to a 55-23 victory.
Ripley (0-4) has a new look lineup this season that does feature experience from guards Jillian Mullins, Chelsey Hager and post player Sarah Williams. Ripley has opened the season on the road and will not see Ripley Health Center until December 21 when they host Huntington.
Mullins led Ripley with eight points, Kelli Poling followed with five, Jade Donohew had three, Williams netted three, Kensey Bergdorf scored two and Kacie Whitney netted two.
Ellis led Cabell Midland with 15.
