  • RAVENSWOOD - Ravenswood Middle School's Demons (2-0) opened their 2012-2013 basketball season with wins over Parkersburg Catholic and Williamstown.
    In their 69-16 win over Parkersburg Catholic, the Demons opened with a 18-2 first quarter scoring barrage and added a 15-6 secon quarter margin for a 33-8 half-time lead. They finished with 18-4 advantages in both the third and fourth quarters.
    Hayden Mandrake led the way with 15 points, five steals and six assists. Isaiah Morgan added 14 points, three steals and four rebounds; and Riley Heatherington, 12 points, five steals and five assists.
    Blake Bennett chipped in nine points, Alex Easthom (six rebounds) eight, Stephen Dawson (five rebounds) four, Lakin Tucker (three rebounds) three, and Jayden Rhodes (four steals and four assists) and Ike Akers two points each.
    Ravenswood connected on four treys, 11 of 12 free throws, and added 21 steals, 26 rebounds and 19 assists.
    Trent Tallman led the Crusaders with five points. Ryan Roedersheimer added three.
    In their 75-20 win over Williamstown, the Demons opened with a 23-3 first quarter and added a 10-5 second quarter for a 33-8 half-time lead. Ravenswood added 25-9 and 17-3 margin to close out the game going away.
    Riley Heatherington led the way with 22 points, nine steals and seven assists. Hayden Mandrake scored 21 points and sished off six assists.
    Blake Bennett chipped in seven points, Isaiah Morgan (three assists) and Jayden Rhodes (four steals and three rebounds) six each, Alex Easthom (seven rebounds) five, Ike Akers four, and Stephen Dawson and Lakin Tucker two each.
    Ravenswood hit six treys, canned nine of 12 free throws, and added 16 steals, 22 rebounds, and 22 assists.
    Josh Fowler paced Williamstown with six points. Four other players scored three points each.
