  • RAVENSWOOD - Senior Red Devils Mason Carte and James Carmichael and senior Lady Red Devils Anna Flesher and Jordan Danko topped All-State soccer honors awarded to Ravenswood players for the recently-completed 2012 season.
    As the Red Devils’ leading scorer, Mason Carte capped a super 14-6-2, Top 10-ranked season by Coach Todd Murray’s Red Devils as a 2012 Class AA-A All-State First Team selection.
    Senior James Carmichael who returned to anchor the Devils’ defense at goal keeper was named to the 2012 Class AA-A All-State Second Team.
    Seniors Nic Ballard and Jesse Mize and juniors Pat Berry and Dalton Gandee were named to the 2012 Class AA-A All-State Honorable Mention list.
     For Coach Kim Sheets’ 8-9-2 Lady Red Devils who battled injuries and a rugged schedule, senior goal keeper Anna Flesher and senior defender Jordan Danko topped the postseason honors by being named to the 2012 Class AA-A All-State Second Team.
    The Lady Red Devils’ top scorers, senior Erica Cullen and junior Bess McNabb were to the 2012 Class AA-A All-State Honorable Mention list.
    Additionally, four Red Devils were named to the 2012 All-LKC First Team. First teamers included senior Mason Carte and juniors Pat Berry, Dalton Gandee and Nick Johnston.
    Six Red Devils were named to the 2012 All-LKC Honorable Mention List: seniors James Carmichael, Nic Ballard, Andrew Ely and Jesse Mize, juniorDevin Wilson and sophomore Nate Schiefer.
    Girls’ All-LKC honors are forthcoming.
    The North-South All-Star Soccer Games are set for November 25 in a 10 a.m. (boys)/12 noon (girls) doubleheader at Bridgeport. Red Devils Mason Carte, Nic Ballard, James Carmichael and Jesse Mize represent Ravenswood in the elite soccer showcase.
    Also representing will be  Lady Red Devils Anna Flesher, Jordan Danko, Erica Cullen, Alex McNabb, Jordan Sheets and Kassie Johnson.
