  • A pair of Cottageville men, including one law enforcement officials say they have been after for many years, have been arrested following a controlled drug buy Thursday afternoon near Ripley.
David Lee Trimble, 32, of Cottageville, and Michael Jay Richardson, Jr., 19, also of Cottageville, have been charged with delivery of a controlled substance.
Trimble and Richardson allegedly sold some 30 Roxycodone tablets to an undercover officer for $1,500. The transaction was recorded on audio and video by Jackson County Deputy Sheriffs.
Investigators say Trimble has been a major player in drug trafficking in Jackson County for a decade, but has never been caught in the act until Thursday.
The vehicle, driven by Richardson, at the time of the men’s apprehension was towed for processing.
