BUFFALO - Good things are happening for the Ripley High School Volleyball team.
The girls started off slow this season but have turned it up a notch thanks to the stellar play of a team choc-full of underclassmen.
The Lady Vikings (7-23-5) competed in a pool of 10 teams at Buffalo last weekend and finished third for the tournament.
For the tourney, the girls went (4-2) and competed hard with every team they faced and eventually fell in the semifinals to the Lady Wildcats of Nitro 18-25 and 16-25.
Ripley beat Tolsia 25-21 and 25-21. They then took down Huntington Saint Joe 25-13 and 25-9 and defeated Mingo Central 25-23 and 26-22. They had a heated contest with Hurricane and won 25-21, lost 23-25 and won 15-13.
