  • Lady Devils win three, tie one

  • EASTWOOD – Ravenswood's lady Red Devils rolled 5-0 over visiting Trinity at Eastwood Saturday to end their regular season at 8-8-2, completing a run of three wins and a tie to finish strong, headed into sectional play at Herbert Hoover Monday night.
    Senior Erica Cullen (17:08 first half and 8:04 second half) and junior Bess McNabb (10:01 first half and 24:23 second half) scored a pair of goals each and senior Jordan Sheets (3:03 second half) one in Saturday's win. Seniors Kassie Johnson (2), Alex McNabb, Jordan Danko and Erica Cullen notched assists.
    Ravenswood out shot Trinity 10-2, and had a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks. Senior Anna Flesher had two keeper saves for Ravenswood and Amelia Waggoner eight for Trinity. Ravenswood tied sectional semifinal opponent AA/A No. 6-ranked Herbert Hoover, 2-2, earlier last week.
    Kassie Johnson scored just 39 seconds into the game off an assist from Bess McNabb and McNabb scored in the ninth minute off an assist from Summer Perry.
    Both teams had seven shots on goal. Anna Flesher had six keeper saves to Hoover's seven. Hoover had two corner kicks to none for Ravenswood. Ravenswood had six direct kicks to five for Hoover and eight indirect kicks to four for the Huskies.
    Ravenswood beat St. Joseph 2-0 behind goals from Erica Cullen (Sheets assist) and Bess McNabb.
    The Lady Red Devils out shot St. Joe 15-7 and had five corner kicks to three. Anna Flesher had eight keeper saves to 13 for St. Joe.
    Ravenswood also defeated Cross Lanes Christian, 4-0.
    Jordan Sheets (penalty kick) and Bess McNabb scored two goals each. Bess McNabb and Kayla Scritchfield notched one assist each.
    Ravenswood out shot CLC 11-3. Anna Flesher had three keeper saves to eight for CLC.
    The AA/A No. 20-ranked Lady Devils (8-8-2, 1-0-1 versus Hoover) face the No. 6-ranked Huskies for the third time in the sectional tournament semifinals last (Monday) night at Falling Rock. The winner will play the winner of No. 1-ranked Sissonville (18-2) and St. Joseph (5-12-3) for the sectional championship.
