RIPLEY - On Thursday evening, Coach Miss Ross' Lady Viking soccer squad hosted the Lady Knights of Point Pleasant and honored Ripley's seniors at halftime. The seniors on the squad are Melissa Hughart, Amanda McGreevy, Katie Moore and Brianna Smith.
The lady Vikings took Point Pleasant down in stunning fashion defeating them 4-0 and capping their regular season off on a positive note.
Ripley is a very young squad this season but the girls played hard through adversity and learned a lot in the process. Coach Ross is proud of her girls and the effort they put forth in 2012.
"I was very pleased with how the girls played. They remained focused and showed how much they have grown as a team during the season. It was great to get a win for the seniors on Senior Night," said Ross.
Liz Knox, Molli Cunningham, Holly Farkosh and Callan Banks all scored goals for Ripley.
Cunningham, Banks and Knox all notched assists with Banks getting two on the evening.
Senior goalkeeper Amanda McGreevy was credited with seven saves. Look for coverage of the Ripley girls in sectional action in future editions ofJackson Newspapers.
