ONA - Ripley's girls soccer squad had a tough task at hand when they hit the road on Saturday to face Cabell Midland in Mountain State Athletic Conference placement action.

In a back and forth contest that Ripley was in until the end, Cabell Midland prevailed 4-2.

Due to ACT test schedules and a band festival, the Lady Viking had to play with 14 and face a tough Midland squad.
Junior Molli Cunningham led Ripley with two goals while Liz Knox and Caylee Painter had assists for the blue and white.

Taylor Dale was the goalkeeper and did a fine job filling in for Kathryn McGreevy.

"I am proud of this team for fighting through a lot this season and giving us a tremendous effort against Cabell Midland," said head coach Missy Ross.

Ripley hosts Point Pleasant on October 11 for their last regular season contest.
