  • Devilettes move to 9-12 on season

  • RAVENSWOOD – Coach Gary Braham's Ravenswood Red Devilette volleyball team moved to 9-12 on the season after recent net action.
    On September 20 at St. Marys, the Devilettes split a tri-match, beating host St. Marys 25-13, 25-19 and losing to Tyler Consoldiated, 25-17, 25-11. Versus St. Marys, Kayla Hoff topped the Ravenswood scoring with 11 points.
    Michaela Hughes added 10, Haley Palmer nine, Katie Buckbee seven, and Tia Querrey and Jordan Strickland five each. Versus Tyler, Hoff scored five points, Buckbee four, Hughes and Palmer three each, Querrey two and Strickland and Natalie Francis one each.
    Ravenswood split a tri-match at West Union September 18, beating Doddridge County (19-25, 25-17, 25-21) and losing to Parkersburg Catholic (25-20, 25-10).
    Versus the Bulldogs, Palmer led the way with 20 points. Hoff added 12, Hughes nine, Buckbee eight, Querrey seven, and Francis and Strickland two each. Versus Catholic, Hoff scored 10, Buckbee eight, Palmer, Hughes and Francis three each, and Strickland and Ashley Sauls one each. The Devilettes fell to Charleston Catholic, 25-9, 25-17, at home September 17.
    Buckbee led Ravenswood with eight points. Hoff and Strickland added four each, Palmer three and Hughes and Querrey two each. Ravenswood dropped a hard-fought decision to Wayne in the Pt. Pleasant Invitational championship match September 15, 25-23, 20-215, 18-25. Buckbee led the Devilettes with 20 points. Palmer added 14, off 12, Querrey and Hughes four each, Strickland two and Francis one.
    Ravenswood beat Poca (25-10, 25-18) and Wayne (25-20, 28-26) in earlier pool play matches at the invitational. Versus Poca, Querrey led the way with 12 points. Palmer, Hoff and Strickland added seven each, Buckbee and Hughes four each and Francis three. Versus Wayne, Palmer led the way with 18 points. Buckbee added nine, Hughes seven, Hoff and Querrey five each and Strickland two.
