EASTWOOD – A huge week for Coach Todd R. Murray's Ravenswood Red Devils (7-2-1) came to a disappointing close with a 2-0 loss to visiting Tyler Consolidated Saturday afternoon at Eastwood.

The Knights scored one goal in each half, with Mert Coskun slipping a hot ground shot past diving James Carmichael with just 29.5 seconds left in the opening half and Brandon Frye adding a second goal 10 minutes into the second half on a high shot that just got over Carmichael's gloves. Offensively, the Red Devils just couldn't find the net missing several opportunities to score in each half of the game.

The Red Devils played two emotional games earlier last week, knocking off previously undefeated No. 4-ranked Williamstown at Eastwood on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first half, senior Mason Carte got the game winner on a chip shot through the Yellow Jacket keeper's gloves and just under the crossbar.

Carte dribbled into the box and made his scoring chip after the ball was deflected several times. On Thursday, the Red Devils battled No. 2-ranked Sissonville to a 1-1 tie on the Indians' home field at Joe Sawyer Stadium.

Sophomore Nate Schiefer scored the Red Devils' goal, while Anthony Rinehart tallied the goal for the Indians (8-2-1). Senior James Carmichael had 14 keeper saves for Ravenswood.
