  • Jesse Mitchell’s petition for an end to petty crime in Ravenswood has apparently succeeded. Organizers of the community-involvement Neighborhood Watch Program will be at the next Ravenswood City Council meeting to discuss organizing the anti-crime network for the town. “I’ve been successful in reaching my goal by reaching out to Mayor Michael Ihle and the City Council,” Mitchell said last week in a telephone interview. Mitchell took his concerns about vandalism and crime in Ravenswood to the street recently in a petition drive to gather support for establishing the Neighborhood Watch Program in the town. “I was moved to stand up as a citizen of Ravenswood and as a professional wrestler to try to make my town better,” said Mitchell. “Neighborhood Watch will be good for Ravenswood, and should help stop the petty crimes we’ve seen here lately.” Vandalism at Treasure Island Playground, tire slashing and vehicle spray painting are among Mitchell’s list of concerns, along with vehicle break-ins and the recent damage to a soft drink machine at Riverfront Park.
