Rebecca A. Suck, 65, of Ravenswood, WV, was called Home by Her Savior on June 29, 2012, at Camden-Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 16, 1947, to the late Carl and Mary Hoschar Casto in Ripley, WV.
She was a homemaker for her entire married life, but was also instrumental in making Suck’s Ashland in Silverton a successful place of business frequented and treasured by many for the past 48 years as a place to shop, share stories, or to spend part of their day around the fire in the winter. She enjoyed her days taking care of her home and working puzzles for fun. For several years, she was active in the Jackson County Rural Arts and Crafts Program making many handmade quilts, stuffed animals, and decorative items sold in crafts stores and shows such as the Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair.
She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Casto, Margaret Casto, Hazel Casto, and Macil Casto, who died earlier in June of this year.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil G. Suck of Silverton; her son, John Sook and his wife Sharon of Midwest City, OK; daughter, Linda Suck of Silverton; four grandchildren, John, Rebekah, Elizabeth, and Emily, in Midwest City, OK; her sister, Minnie Sayre or Ripley, and many nieces and nephews here in West Virginia and across the country.
Services were held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Roush Funeral Home , Ravenswood, WV, with graveside services following at Ravenswood Cemetery with Reverend Don Balis officiated.
Friends visited the family at the funeral home on Monday, July 2.
