A pair of talented underclassmen for the Ravenswood Devilettes were recognized by the Little Kanawha Conference and in the recent balloting of the West Virginia Class AA All-State softball team.
Both Katie Buckbee and Savana Casto garnered second team Little Kanawaha Conference honors while both players also earned Honorable Mention All-State. Buckbee was a sophomore catcher this past season for Ravenswood while Casto was a freshman pitcher. Buckbee was selected as a utility player for the LKC.
With the presence of those two returning, the future could be bright for head coach Cindy Carmichael, who will be faced with the task of replacing seniors Kaci Sullivan, Callie Snodgrass and Breanna Rogers next season.
State champion Wayne and runner-up Ritchie County each placed three players on the Class AA First Team All-State unit that was chosen by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
