COLUMBUS - The Huntington Hounds 14 and under youth baseball team finished No.1 at the Memorial Day Tournament in Grove City Ohio last weekend. The Hounds played five games and won the championship by pounding Ohio Elite Surge 8-0. Ripley youths Johnny Stepp (who did not travel to this tournament) and Christopher Jordan hold spots on the Hounds roster.
Jordan went 8-for-15 with two doubles and a triple in five games. He scored six runs and drove in seven RBIs. Defensively, he had 14 assists (infield). The Hounds took on George Washington High School summer league on Tuesday night and will hit the road to Columbus Ohio for the USSA-NIT tournament this weekend.
