  • Charles “Huck” Shinn, 96, of Ravenswood Ravenswood passed away March 31, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

  • Charles “Huck” Shinn, 96, of Ravenswood Ravenswood passed away March 31, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
    He was born on April 6, 1915 to Charles Shinn and Flossie Parrish Shinn.
    He worked as a maintenance Supervisor for the city of Ravenswood. and was formerly a guard at Kaiser Aluminum He was also a veteran of the US Army that served during WWII. He was a member of Pt. Pleasant Moose Lodge #731: Ashton Lodge #12 of Ravenswood, AF&A.M.: Dowell Commandery No. 28Knights Templar; Shriners International; R.A.M. Jackson County ; Ravenswood VFW Post 6669 and the American Legion Post , Charleston.
    In addition to his parents was he preceded in death by a brother, Paul Shinn; sister, Margaret Shinn Baker; spouse, Joephin Flemming Shinn and son, Douglass Shin.
    Surviving Huck are: his sister, JoAn Shinn Hunt, Ripley; grandson, Brandon Shinn, Ravenswood; Nephews Benny Hunt and his wife, Brenda of Ripley; and Bill Baker and his wife, Peggy, Melbourne, FL; niece, Marty Taylor, Chapel Hill, NC; Daughter-in-law Kathy Shinn and fiance, Chester Randolph, Ravenswood; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Flemming Baker, Ravenswood.
    Services are April 4 at 11 a.m. at Roush Funeral Home.
