Ripley Police are investigating a break-in at Kentucky Fried Chicken in West Ripley Friday night during which a safe from the office was taken.
Sgt. Rick Cain of the Ripley Police Department, who is investigating, said entry was made through the rear door of the restaurant sometime between midnight Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday.
Surveillance cameras captured the image of a male intruder, and police hope to have the image enhanced.
The thief removed the safe from the office by placing it on a chair and dragging it outside where it was loaded into a vehicle. A large, yet unspecified, amount of cash was inside the safe.
Anyone who has information that can aid in the investigation of the crime is asked to contact Sgt. Cain at the Ripley Police Department (304-372-4711).
