Dolan Gene Casto 78, of Ripley passed away March 8, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston following a long illness.



Dolan Gene Casto 78, of Ripley passed away March 8, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston following a long illness.
Gene was born November 8, 1933 at Given a son of the late Dolan M. and Hazel Harpold Casto. He was a graduate of the Class of 1951 at Ripley High School and served in the US Navy. He retired from Pechiney Rolled Products with 45 years of service and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 5668. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Helen “Chick” Hall Casto; daughters Lynn Mitchell and her husband Curtis of Columbus, OH and Lea Pryde and her husband Jim of Laurel, MD; a brother Daniel D. Casto and his wife Jean of Homestead, FL; a sister Deloris Chancey of Ripley and four grandchildren, Chelsea Hall Mitchell and Curtis Edward Mitchell II both of Columbus, Matthew Gene Knapp of Ravenswood and Isaac Glenn Cobb of Laurel, MD., and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.  
A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 2:10 p.m. for Pine Hill Cemetery where a grave side memorial service will be held.  
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association.
