  • Anna Gay Merical Flesher, 101, of Millwood, Jackson County, WV, passed away March 9, 2012, at Willows Center in Parkersburg.
    She was born August 5, 1910, in Statts Mills, WV, a daughter of the late David William and Cora Alice (Anderson) Merical. Her husband, Dana Flesher; son, James Flesher, daughter, Margaret (Flesher) Barnett Walent, granddaughter, Janet Walent, and great granddaughter, Amy Hedges, infant twin grandsons, brother, Ray Merical and sister, Lucy Flesher also preceded her in death.
    She was a homemaker, a caregiver and worked in concessions at the Raven Drive-In Theater and in various area restaurants, including Marty’s.  She was a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed quilting, growing flowers, and feeding the birds.
    Survivors include her sons, Junior C. “Buck” Flesher and Brooks F. Flesher and his wife, Annabelle, all of Millwood, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren.
     Service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans with Pastor Lester Morgan officiating.   Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
    The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Willows Center, especially, Nora, Ella, Ashley and Becky.
