  • Pauline Louise Parsons, 94 of Ripley passed away, Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Ravenswood Care Center following a long illness.

  • Pauline Louise Parsons, 94 of Ripley passed away, Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Ravenswood Care Center following a long illness.
    She was born March 7, 1918 at Elkhurst, WV a daughter of the late Winson and Ruth Davis Schoonover. She was a graduate of Clay County High School and Morris Harvey College where she earned her teaching degree. She was a retired school teacher, a  50 year member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Ripley and a 50 year member of the Homemakers Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting and working outside.
    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Morley Q. Parsons; brothers  Ralph, Hubert, Arch, Worshell, Dan and Winson Schoonover Jr.; sisters Christine Williams, Dessell Harold, Goldie Blake and Sylvia Shamblen.
    She is survived by a son Ralph Parsons of Ripley; a daughter Janet Ball of Woodstock, GA;  sister Kathleen Bowen of Cross Lanes; her grandchildren Julie Henderson, Carrie LaVette and Taran Parsons Wolford; great grandchildren Jeffrey and Jacob Henderson and Cameron and Devon LaVette
    Funeral Service will be 11 am Wednesday March 14, 2012 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Given. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
    In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Morley Parsons Scholarship Fund, c/o Calvary United Methodist Church, 205 Court St., Ripley, WV 25271
