The 24th Annual Distinguished Community Service Award Dinner is scheduled for Monday, March 26, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Jackson County Armed Forces Reserve Center, Point Pleasant Road (Rt. 2) in Millwood, WV.
The 24th Annual Distinguished Community Service Award Dinner is scheduled for Monday, March 26, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Jackson County Armed Forces Reserve Center, Point Pleasant Road (Rt. 2) in Millwood, WV. The event will be catered by Cedar Lakes.
The proceeds from this dinner go to the Little Kanawha District of the Allohak Council BSA for activities in the District, which includes the Scouting units of Jackson, Roane, Calhoun, and Wirt Counties.
The speaker for the event will be Major General Melvin L. Burch.
The 24th Distinguished Community Service Award recipient Rhonda K. Davis is a shining example of what being from and living in Jackson County is all about. She is married to Chris Davis and is the director of marketing and public relations at Jackson General Hospital as well as an adjunct professor at WVU at Parkersburg. Rhonda has two sons, a daughter in law and a grandchild on the way. Even with her busy schedule she has been steadfast in giving back to her community. These qualities have held her in high regard with her peers over many years and were the basis for being recognized as a leader in our community. She joins the fraternity of former Distinguished Community Service Award recipients as cornerstones of our community.
Rhonda’s passion and community services focuses on the youth in our county. Rhonda has devoted many hours of service to enhance the safety and positive choices of teens in our county. She is truly an advocate for the youth.
Rhonda attends Fairplain Union Church, is a member of the Rotary Club of Ripley, Circuit 5 Teen Court Coordinator, JGH Foundation board member, volunteers and has volunteered for WV Underage Drinking counsel, Jackson County Anti-Drug Coalition, Patch 21, American Heart Association, Jackson County Republican Women’s Committee, Special Olympics and numerous youth focused organizations and activities.
