Lawrence set sail on his 60-yard TD jaunt on the Red Devils’ second offensive play of the game and ended the night with 18 carries for 109 yards and three TDs.

Brandon Cunningham booted his first of five PATs and Ravenswood led 7-0 with 11:23 still left in the opening quarter of play.
The Red Devils next put together a seven-play, 84-yard scoring march capped when senior H-back Kyle Griffith took a short pass from Dustin DeRito and rambled 20 yards, diving into the end zone for the TD. Cunningham’s PAT kick made it 14-0 with 5:30 left in the first quarter.

Ravenswood’s next scoring march covered the length of the field-97 yards on nine plays. Lawrence slashed into the end zone from two yards out for his second TD of the game to cap the drive. Cunningham’s PAT kick made it 21-0 with 11:56 left in the half.

Senior Chad Burrows who played a disruptive game on defense with a sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery set up the next Red Devils score by blocking Jordan Lucas’s punt.

The Devils moved 25 yards in just four plays with DeRito blasting into the end zone from one yard out for the capping TD. Cunningham booted the PAT and Ravenswood led 28-0 with 8:42 left in the half.

Clay County scored their only points of the game on a big play with 7:06 left in the half. Punter Jordan Lucas took off on a fake punt and raced 65 yards downt he home sideline to score a TD. Seth Stewart’s PAT attempt was wide right and Ravenswood led 28-6 at the half.
Neither team could score in the third quarter.

Ravenswood capped the game scoring with 5:23 left in the game on a seven-play, 45-yard drive set up by Kyle Griffith’s fumble recovery. Lawrence scored his third TD of the game on a one-yard run to cap the drive. Cunningham booted the PAT to make the final score 35-6.

Lawrence’s 18 carries for 109 yards and three TD led the Red Devils’ ground attack. DeRito added 15 carries for 60 yards and a TD; Rhys Jelich one carry for four yards; Devon Crews one carry for two yards; and Heath Burgess had one carry for minus one yard. As a team, Ravenswood rushed 36 times for 174 yards with four TDS.

DeRito completed 15 of 26 passes for 184 yards with one TD and one interception.

Lawrence had five catches for 91 yards; Griffith four catches for 44 yards and a TD; Zack Martin three catches for 28 yards; and Kurt Schindler two catches for 14 yards.

The Red Devils totaled 358 offensive yards with 21 first downs (10 via rush, eight via pass and three via penalty) and drew seven flags for 47 yards.

Jordan Lucas led the Panthers’ rushing attack with 22 carries for 144 yards (65 on a fake punt run) and one TD. As a team, Clay County rushed 36 times for 170 yards.

William Stewart completed 11 of 23 passes for 100 yards with one interception.

Clay County totaled 270 offensive yards with 16 first downs (11 via rush, four via pass and one via penalty) and drew seven flags for 75 yards.

A.J. Summerfield punted twice for the Red Devils with a 27.5-yard average. Cunningham kicked off six times with a 48-yard average.
Devon Crews had one punt return for seven yards. Jordan Yencha had one kickoff return for two yards.
Defensively, junior linebacker Brad Titus (sack, interception) led the way with 10 tackles. Jeremy Burgess (sack) and Kurt Schindler added six tackles each; A.J. Summerfield (pass breakup-PBU) five tackles; Chad Burrows (sack, punt block, forced fumble, fumble recovery), Zack Martin (PBU) and Jeremy Lawrence four tackles each; Kyle Griffith (fumble recovery) and Trey Hatcher (fumble recovery) three tackles each; Conner Jelich, Heath Burgess, Tyler Newell (TFL), Billy Knicely, Jordan Yencha and Andrew Tidd two tackles each; and Brandon Cunningham, Tyler Miller (PBU) and Ben Johnson one tackle each.

Ravenswood (6-2) hosts Class A St. Marys (4-4) Friday at Flinn Field with the Senior Night ceremony to precede kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
