Robert Fisher Lowther, 72, of Sandyville, departed this life for the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven at Jackson General Hospital Friday evening following an extended illness.
He was born July 18, 1939 in Doddridge County, son of the late Jennings Hurley and Alma Hazel Fisher Lowther. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, a charter member of the Tri-County Worship Center in Wood County (which he helped construct) and retired from G.E. Plastics with many years of loyal service.
Robert’s world was being a loving and responsible husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family but his one true passion was spreading the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ. An ordained minister, he loved getting the Word out through work with senior citizens ,conducting visitations and other ministries. A true believer and awash in faith, he was a soul winner to the end. As his own final hours slipped away in this world, he spent them spreading the Word to hospital staff, visitors and his own physicians.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Martha Ann Lowther, in 2009 and one sister, Carolyn Kyle Lowther Hart.
Surviving: Daughter, Katrina (Randy) Grady of Joe’s Run and their children, Krystle (Ben) Harrison of Kenna and Brent and Hanna Grady of Vienna; daughter, Kristina (Curtis) Moore and their children, Solomon, Desarae (Justin) Cooper of Cottageville, , Staci, Gabriel and Chelsea Moore, all of Looneyville; daughter, Karen (Richard) McClung of Sandyville; daughter, Amy (Anthony) Titus and their daughter, Aubrey, of Parkersburg; son, Robert (Ann) Lowther and their children, Samantha, Allie, Keaton and Johanna of Columbus, Texas; son, Kenneth, twin to Robert of Parkersburg; great-grandchildren Hunter and Fisher Harrison of Kenna; brother, Kenneth Willis Lowther of New Milton, WV.
