Devilette Katie Buckbee was named to the All-Tournament Team and Ravenswood (16-15) advanced to the championship quarterfinals at the Charleston Catholic Invitational Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

 


Devilette Katie Buckbee was named to the All-Tournament Team and Ravenswood (16-15) advanced to the championship quarterfinals at the Charleston Catholic Invitational Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

In pool play, Ravenswood rolled to wins over Calhoun County (19-25, 28-26, 15-11), and Herbert Hoover (25-17, 25-8).

They lost to the host Irish (7-25, 25-27) and bowed out in the championship quarterfinals to St. Albans (22-25, 25-18, 6-15).

Buckbee (10 kills) paced the Devilettes past Calhoun with 20 points, Brenna Mahan (12 kills) added 16, Michaela Hughes (six aces) 10, Kayla Hoff (three blocks), Kaci Sullivan (71 sets) and Autumn Blair four each and Tia Querrey added one.

Mahan (five kills) led the way past Hoover with 10 points,. Sullivan (seven aces) added nine, Buckbee (five kills) eight, Hughes, Blair and Querrey six each, and Hoff and Natalie Francis one each.

In the loss to the Irish, Buckbee (five kills) scored 10 points, Mahan (eight kills) nine, Hughes four, Sullivan, Blair and Hoff  two each and Querrey one.

In the quarterfinal loss to St. Albans, Buckbee (nine kills) score 12 points. Hughes and Hoff (eight blocks) seven each, Blair (four aces) six, Mahan (four blocks) five, Sullivan four and Querrey three.

The Devilettes dropped a hard-fought dual match at St. Marys last Thursday, 25-20, 33-31, 22-25, 22-25.

Buckbee (17 kills) scored 35 points to lead the Devilettes. Hughes (seven kills) added 16, Hoff (seven kills, eight blocks) 15, Sullivan 10, Blair five, Querrey two and Brittany Jones (four blocks) one.

Boogie Grose paced the Blue Devils with 22 points.
