Joseph Lonnie Easter, 64, of Millwood, died January 28, 2010, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, following a brief illness.

He was born November 16, 1945, in Ripley, a son of the late Freeman Woodrow and Ada Mae (Anderson) Easter. He was also preceded in death by his brother Frank.

He was the former owner and operator Easter’s Gulf Stations and a retired welder/fabricator from Alcan after 31 years of service. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America, Local #5669, Ravenswood, and life member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed his retirement, gardening, and being outdoors.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his wife, Gloria Ann (Conley) Easter, sons Todd and his wife Lisa Easter of Lesage and Michael Easter of Fairmont, and grandchildren Ben, Joey, and Kaitlin. He is also survived by brother Frederick Easter of Ripley and sisters Chris Pickens of Evans, Barb Staats of Mineral Wells, and Shirley Barnette of Ripley.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 31, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Jon Villers officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, January 30, at the funeral home.
