Albert C. Criddle, Jr., 79, of Ravenswood passed away January 26, 2010, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.


Albert C. Criddle, Jr., 79, of Ravenswood passed away January 26, 2010, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.

Born December 13, 1930, in Bellburn, he was a son of Albert C. Criddle, Sr., and Ruby Alice Perry Criddle. 

Fishing was Albert’s passion, and he loved boating.  He very much loved his family.  He retired from the plate department at Pechiney Aluminum in 1991, where he was a member of Steelworkers Union Local 5668, and also served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Viola Gay Criddle, of Ravenswood, daughter Cathy Stephens and husband Allen of Cottageville, sister Dorothy Coulter of Ohio, brothers Bobby Joe Criddle of Milton and Charles Criddle of Texas, granddaughter Crissy Randolph and husband Michael, and great-granddaughter Taylor Scott Randolph.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Dale Lee “Skeeter” Criddle, grandson Scott Stephens, and brother Clarence Criddle.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, at 1 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Reverend Jim Catron officiating.  Burial will follow in the Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville. 

Friends visited the family at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, and may also visit one hour prior to the service Thursday.
