Join former librarian Daisy Bennett for a discussion about the use of quilts during the Underground Railroad era.
Some believe that quilt patterns were used as a code to help runaway slaves navigate the Underground Railroad and escape to freedom.
Bennett will feature an underground railroad quilt she has created, along with books on the subject, and a related word search.
The program is open to the public but is geared for the interest of third graders through adult.
The program will be held at the Ripley Library on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. and at the Ravenswood Library on Monday, February 27 at 4 p.m.
Please call 304-372-5343 (Ripley) or 304-273-5343 (Ravenswood) for more details.
